Canyon Lake Volleyball Takes Sisterhood to Next Level

November 2, 2026 - For the Canyon Lake High School varsity volleyball team, sisterhood is more than just a team culture — it is a way of life. With three sets of sisters on the court, the bond formed between the girls is one that will last them a lifetime.

CLHS Head Volleyball Coach Daniella Villarreal has been leading the Lady Hawks since 2023, and creating a team culture that is rooted in family has always been a goal.

“As a coach, you want your team to have that ‘family culture’ because it is a long season and there will be highs and lows,” explains Villarreal, who played collegiate volleyball at the University of Texas at San Antonio. “When you have that family feel, it helps the team stick together. We have real family relationships on the team, which inevitably spreads to the rest of the girls.”

The team's sister sets include: Bella Biasatti (Junior) and Ani Biasatti (Freshman), Kylee Goff (Junior) and Emma Goff (Freshman), and Izzy Fory (Senior) and Gabby Fory (Senior).

Having so many sisters on one team comes with its own challenges, as siblings have a closer relationship. Coach Villarreal explains how the sisters have a unique ability to disagree, but do so in a way that pulls out the best in each other.

“When they argue, they argue in a way that helps them strengthen their problem-solving skills,” says Villarreal. “Watching them work together as well as compete against each other to move towards the same goal is inspiring.”

“We’re best friends,” says Gabby Fory. “We were each other's built-in pepper partners growing up, so communicating is easy.”

In addition to practicing together most of their lives, the sisters also have the advantage of knowing each other better than anyone, and they extend that to their teammates on the court.

Junior Bella Biasatti says, “Being on the same team is a lot more fun. There is a sisterly energy on the court, and we look after each other.”

From being each other's pepper partner to celebrating a score together on the court, Canyon Lake Volleyball is an example of the empowerment found within sisterhood, and with each year that passes, Canyon Lake Volleyball continues to improve its ranking in the district.

“I love coaching at Canyon Lake because of the amazing human beings I get to be around each day,” says Villarreal. “It has been a special experience coaching the three sets of sisters on the team and watching them help and challenge each other to be the best versions of themselves on and off the court.”

Thank you Coach Villarreal for empowering sisterhood on Canyon Lake Volleyball’s Path to Success
