July 30, 2026 - Comal ISD is hosting two student immunization clinics on Wednesday, Aug. 19. Anyone interested in participating in these clinics may register at https://oem.passporthealthglobal.com/ClinicSignUp/Registration/Comal. Walk-ins will be accepted.
Clinic times and locations on Wednesday, Aug. 19:
- 8-11 a.m. at Bill Brown Elementary School, 20410 Hwy. 46, Spring Branch
- 1-4 p.m. at Canyon Middle School, 2014 FM 1102, New Braunfels
The student immunization clinics are open to school-aged children from 3 to 18 who attend Comal ISD. This should not replace any well child pediatrician checkups. Older children who resist shots and children with special needs cannot be seen given the nature of this clinic. Please see a pediatrician.
Staff and supplies are limited. These clinics may be discontinued if supplies or time runs out. There is no guarantee that everyone will be seen.
The following insurance PPO plans are accepted: Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana and United Health Care. Please note that Aetna and Blue Cross Gold, Silver or Bronze plans or HMO plans with any insurance company will not be accepted.
A paper photocopy of insurance card and driver’s license MUST be provided to receive vaccines at no charge. Electronic copies cannot be accepted.
There will be no charge for vaccines for families on Medicaid/CHIP, but they must provide a paper photocopy of the Medicaid/CHIP card.
The out-of-pocket cost will be $12 per vaccine for anyone who is uninsured with a $48 maximum charge per child. Only cash or Zelle will be accepted as payment.
The following vaccines will be offered for these grade levels:
- Pre-k and kindergarten (if vaccines are not up to date) – DTP/IPV/MMR/Varicella, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Hib, PCV
- Incoming seventh grades – MCV4 (meningitis) and Tdap (booster tetanus) required for seventh grade. HPV, optional.
- 12th grade – MCV4 (meningitis) – required for colleges. Men B, optional 2 shot series for the fifth strain of meningitis.

Additional back-to-school immunization support may be found through the Comal County Office of Public Health which hosts a vaccine clinic the first Wednesday of every month from 8:30 a.m. to noon by appointment only at 1917 FM 2673, Canyon Lake. The next clinic is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 5.
The CCPH office is open for vaccinations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday at 1345 Church Hill, Suite 1100, New Braunfels, by appointment. It is closed from noon to 1 p.m. daily.
